Resources used in our Spring '06 SCAAPT presentation

Note that many of the sites listed here employ Java, JavaScript and Flash.  Please make sure your computer has the latest updates.

• NetSupport: This is the software that allows the instructor to control the student computers (lock students out of specific web sites, distribute files, view student screens, and much more).
• InterWrite PRS : This is the brand of "clickers" that we use. 
• PhET (Physics Education Technology): The group at Colorado has some of the nicest simulations & classroom activities on the web.  (Not as complete of a collection as some others, but it's growing everyday.)

• The wonderful Virtual Physics Laboratory by Fu-Kwun Hwang
• Paul Falstad's Math & physics Applets (The virtual ripple tank is especially nice.)
• MERLOT: The best feature of this site is that many of the simulations and activities are peer-reviewed.  Notice that is a multi-disciplinary site.
• ActivPhysics: Simulations, and activities developed by Alan Van Heuvelen.  (Note: Although ActivPhysics is on a commercial site, the this portion is free.  Addison Wesley charges for the paper workbooks that are to be used with the simulations, but not the actual simulations.)
• Explorations of Physics/ Physical Science: We have a site license for these applications, which run locally.  Several faculty have found simulations in these collections which they use regularly.

• Applet Collection from MSU
• Michael Fowler's Physics Applets & Flashlets
