Physics 201- Introduction to Electricity & Magnetism
September 6- Visualizing & Calculating Electric Fields

  • There is a problem due Wednesday.
  • Please see Dr. Saleh in room 104 for your lab manual.  (The first lab, electrostatics, will be altered slightly from what is in the manual.)
  • And,... we have our first test next Friday!  This will cover the material relating to electric charges, Coulomb's force and electric fields.
  • Anybody interested in learning more about the Society of Physics Students should talk with Dr. Jeff.  (You don't have to be a physics major to join.)

Today:

  • Discuss the problem due today (if the class desires)
  • Qualitatively look at continuous charge distributions
  • Continue to study electric fields- visualizing them and calculating their values for specific examples.
