Don't forget- our kinematics test is Monday. It will cover chapters 1- 4, which
talks about how to describe motion.

My solutions to today's problems are posted to the web site.

There are no exercises or problems due on Friday; instead, start reviewing for the test. Fell free to bring in your questions on Friday. I will also be available for office hours today 1:00- 3:30 and tomorrow 9:00- 11:00.

Today, we’ll look at two special
cases of two-dimensional motion- projectile motion and uniform circular motion.
With both, you can write separate equations for the x and y components of motion
(position, velocity and acceleration).

- Projectile motion
- There is only an acceleration in the vertical direction (due to gravity).
- Today we’ll apply what we had talked about last time.

- Uniform circular motion
- Move about a center with a fixed radius at a constant speed.
- Today, we’ll start looking at this (with more practice on Friday).
