Physics 101- Introduction to Mechanics
February 2- 2-D Motion

Consider a horizontally launched projectile (much ike what we'll do in lab this week).  Notice how the horizontal component of the velocity is constant, there is no horizontal acceleration.  The vertical component of the velocity is given by vy (t)= ay t, where ay = -9.8m/s2 and the y position is y (t)= yo + voyt + 1/2ay t2 (here voy= 0).

(Okay, the animation uses ay = -10m/s2.)
