Econ. 322Money, Banking, and Finance Dr. James DevineThis course concerns the issues of money, banking, and financial markets. Bonds, interest rates, exchange rates, portfolio choice, financial institutions and regulation, Federal Reserve control over the money supplies, monetary policy, and the international financial system are considered at length.
Prerequisites/Recommended Background:
Economics 120 is required. Econ. 110 is recommended. Math requirements are very simple (algebra). It is recommended that you take Econ. 322 before Econ. 320.

Frederick Mishkin, The Economics of Money, Banking, and Financial Markets, 6th ed.
Course Work/Expectations:
This course involves reading, writing, and 'rithmetic.
There will be problem sets, short exams, and a final. Problem sets involve short essays, problem solving, definitions, and the like.
Comments:
This course is required for Economics majors. It is recommended for Business majors and others interested in money and banking.
