How
to get to our meetings:
Using an on-line mapping program to get to
3200 Motor Avenue (
Our meetings are in the (Taper?) building across the
grass from the Baron School for Exceptional Children (which is the new name for
the Julia Ann Singer center, our old meeting place) within the Vista del Mar
campus between National and Pico, 1/2 block North of the
The Baron School is at 3321 Edith Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90064. Even though this address is helpful when using Mapquest and other mapping programs, you cannot enter from Edith. Instead, you must enter via the Vista del Mar campus’ main gate on Motor Boulevard, at 3200 Motor Blvd. Then you have to wind through the Vista campus, going in a generally Easterly direction without turning at any of the intersections until you get to the East side of the campus, where you park. See the maps below.

Pico Boulevard, going either direction: turn South on Motor Boulevard
and wind along until after you pass Manning. Turn Left into the Vista del Mar
campus before freeway overpass.
From Venice Boulevard, going either direction:
turn North on Motor Boulevard and drive until you pass under the Santa Monica
Freeway. Then, turn right into the Vista del Mar campus.

2. Now
you're at Vista del Mar:
Please
enter through Vista del Mar and go as straight as possible (on a mildly
wiggling road) on a mild uphill grade, following any signs you see eastward to
the Julia Ann Singer Center (JAS). Don’t turn left or right at the
intersection. This
is the purple (red plus blue) path in the maps
above and below. The JAS is an
extremely drab-looking cinder-block building that’s covered with ivy. The sign
above the front door of the JAS building is now much more readable than it used
to be, while they added a new glass door that stands out in the dark when the
lights are on.
However,
we’re no longer at the old building where were last year and previous years!
Once you get to the new and bright front door of where the JAS center used to
be, turn around completely and look for a large bright door in the building
where we now have our meetings (called the Taper building, I believe). It’s by
a basketball hoop and not far away. See the second Google photo below. More
information will be available as soon as I can get it. (Thanks to Google for not complaining about my use of
their Google Earth program. Thanks also to MapQuest for the map above.)
