How to get to our meetings:

The Julia Ann Singer center  is at 3200 Motor Ave. (Los Angeles, 90034) between National and Pico, 1/2 block North of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway underpass. (JAS is an outpatient division of the Vista del Mar Child and Family Services organization, serving learning disabled, emotionally disturbed, developmentally delayed and abused children and their families.)

1. getting to Vista del Mar, the home of the Julia Ann Singer center:

From the Santa Monica Freeway, going East (almost immediately east of the 405): get off at National. Turn left onto National, then turn left at the most confusing intersection in the world (the one with the overhead sign; there's no need to stop), onto National again. At the light, turn left on Motor. Go under the freeway overpass, turn right into the Vista del Mar campus. This is the blue path in the map below.

From the Santa Monica freeway, going West (almost immediately east of the 405): get off at National. Go straight onto Manning. Turn left onto Motor. Turn Left into the Vista del Mar campus before freeway overpass. This is the bright red path in the map below.

From Pico Boulevard, going either direction: turn South on Motor Boulevard and wind along until after you pass Manning. Turn Left into the Vista del Mar campus before freeway overpass.

From Venice Boulevard, going either direction: turn North on Motor Boulevard and drive until you pass under the Santa Monica Freeway. Then, turn right into the Vista del Mar campus.

2. Now you're at Vista del Mar:

Please enter through Vista del Mar and go as straight as possible (on a mildly wiggling road) on a mild uphill grade, following any signs you see eastward to the Julia Ann Singer Center. Don’t turn left or right at the intersection. This is the purple (red plus blue) path in the maps above and below. The JAS is an extremely drab-looking cinder-block building that’s covered with ivy. The sign above the front door of the JAS building is hard to read from a distance and in poor light. (Alas, we schedule our meetings at times when there is poor lighting.) It’s across the street (caddie-corner) from the Silbert Swim Center and across the parking lot from a small library.

The JAS center is next to Edith Street, but we're not allowed to enter via the door from Edith. In the maps: “JAS” is the Julia Ann Singer center.

We meet in the community room, which is to the left of the rotunda/entrance hall as you walk in the front door of JAS.

3. Leaving to go home:

to go back to the 405 or points east along the Santa Monica freeway, exit Vista del Mar and turn left on Motor Ave. Then, turn right on National Blvd at the stop-light. Then, after winding around a bit, turn right on Overland Blvd. Then turn right after the bridge, onto the Freeway.

to go back to the Santa Monica freeway going West: exit Vista del Mar and turn Right on Motor Ave. Turn right on Manning about two blocks, there's an entrance to the Freeway.

to go back to Venice Blvd., turn left on Motor as you exit from Vista del Mar.

To go back to Pico Blvd., turn right on Motor Blvd.
