TEACHING

During the fall semester of 2011, I'll be teaching PHIL 698: The Epistemology of Disagreement and PHIL 221: Symbolic Logic.

Some courses I've taught in recent semesters include PHIL 160 Philosophy of Human Nature, PHIL 320 Ethics, PHIL 329: British Moral Philosophy, PHIL 498 Virtue Epistemology, PHIL 481 Philosophy of Human Rights, and PHIL 698 Virtue Epistemology. I've also taught some "pop culture" (but philosophically serious!) courses in recent years, including PHIL 329: Wicked: Ethical Issues in the Broadway Musical (covered moral anti-/realism, moral luck, and the philosophy of friendship), PHIL 398: Philosophical Issues in the Book and Film "Dead Man Walking" (covered the ethics of capital punishment and the role of emotions in moral and religious knowledge) and PHIL 398: Moral and Religious Knowledge in the Stories of Flannery O'Connor (looked primarily at the role of the will in moral and religious knowledge). Feel free to contact me for the syllabi for any of these courses.

My office is in University Hall 3749. My office phone number is 310.338.4486. And my fax number is 310.338.5997.
