  • The Mathematical Sciences Research Institute Undergraduate Program (MSRI-UP) is a six-week research program in Berkeley, CA.  In 2008, it will host 18 students who will do research under the direction of Victor H. Moll, Professor of Mathematics at Tulane University.  In 2009, the research leader will be John B. Little, Professor of Mathematics at College of the Holy Cross.

  • I am the director of LMU's New Europe Program and the Summer Engineering, Mathematics and Science Programs in Bonn, Germany.  The programs are run by the Akademie für Internationale Bildung (AIB).  I'll be teaching in Bonn in Spring and Summer 2008.

  • I have walked and cycled the Camino de Santiago, an ancient pilgrimage route through the northern part of Spain.  I am currently serving on the Board of Directors of the American Pilgrims on the Camino organization.

  • For several years, I served on the Board of Directors of the Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) in Los Angeles.

  • I help Tom White, Loyola Marymount University, Hilton Chair of Business Ethics, to organize the LMU Run for the Bay.

  • From 1998 - 2002, I co-directed the Summer Institute in Mathematics for Undergraduates (SIMU).  I at the University of Puerto Rico - Humacao.  Click here to learn about SIMU.  The program won an award in January 2006 from the American Mathematical Society.
