Welcome to the homepage of Brian Treanor, Associate Professor of Philosophy and Director of Environmental Studies
at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. I received my Ph.D. from Boston College, where I studied with Richard Kearney and Jacques Taminiaux. My teaching and research cover a wide range of issues, but tend to focus on the fields of hermeneutics, continental philosophy and theology, virtue ethics, and environmental philosophy.
